Jason McClearyProject Engineer
Jason joined NCDMM in 2026 as a Project Engineer for El Paso Makes. He manages projects and provides engineering design and technical analysis, along with process coordination and implementation development. He brings nearly 20 years of experience to the team.
Throughout his career, Jason has led and trained teams while developing solutions in mechanical and electrical systems. As a former mechanic in the U.S. Army, he served as a quality assurance supervisor, overseeing vehicle safety standards and compliance and performing mechanical and electrical troubleshooting.
His career has expanded into advanced manufacturing, with specialized work in material and ceramic extrusion, material development and custom machine design. He has contributed to projects involving automation, programmable logic controllers, and controls integration. As part of a development team, Jason helped design and build a custom ceramic printer and has been involved in machine development and troubleshooting of integrated systems.
In his previous role as a Research Associate at the W.M. Keck Center for 3D Innovation at The University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP), Jason successfully led a team in developing a custom-built machining gantry for integration into an RPMI 222XR directed energy deposition printer. During his time at UTEP, he also worked with laser powder bed fusion systems, focusing on aluminum alloy CP1 process development, optimization, and machine operation.
Jason earned a bachelor’s and master’s in Mechanical Engineering from UTEP.
